Abstract
523,316. Band-clips. ROBINSON, L. Dec. 30, 1938, No. 37894. [Class 44] In hose clips of the kind described in Specifications 203,262 and 273,279, [both in Class 44], having a worm mounted in a housing secured to one end of the band and adapted to engage teeth on the other end of the band, the worm is journalled in end plates secured to the housing by marginal lugs on the plates engaging recesses in the ends of the housing. As shown, the housing 3 for the worm 4 is rectangular U-form in section, with edges which conform to the curvature of the pipe 2 and are secured to the edge of band 1a by welding. The end plates 5 have lugs 5b which engage recesses in the ends of the housing and are retained in place by the head 7 of the worm and a split ring 6 which prevent end-play of the worm, or by lugs 3b on the housing which are bent down over the end plates.
