513,270. Alloys. ALLOYS, Ltd. March 28, 1938, Nos. 9498 and 9499. Convention dates, March 26,1937, and Oct. 25, 1937. [Class 82 (i)] Alloys of one of the metals copper, nickel, and silver with a metal of the titanium group, particularly titanium, zirconium, hafnium, and thorium, are made by mixing powdered copper &c. with a powdered hydride of titanium &c. or titanium &c. containing occluded hydrogen, and heating the mixture until the hydrogen is liberated and the copper &c. wets the surface of the particles of titanium &c. and diffuses therethrough. The heating may be effected in vacuo to a temperature between 700C. and the melting point of copper.
