[Class 124] [Also in Group XXV] Screw and nut elements, particularly for use in percussive drills, have a thread with a long face at a small inclination to the axis, and a short face with a steep inclination. As shown, applied to a chuck 3 and chuck driver 4 for rock drills, long faces 5, 10 are provided on the thread with short faces at approximately a right angle thereto. With the end 4a of the driver bearing against a shoulder 3a on the chuck the long faces of the threads take the strain and a locking action results. The apex of the threads may be flattened.
