Abstract

507,310. Ventilators. BERRYMAN, J. D. S. Jan. 19, 1939, No. 1890. [Class 137] A grating comprising bars 2 is surrounded by a seating 4, and is adapted to be closed by a cover 5 the rubber lining 6 of which is pressed on to the seating 4 by a manually operated screw 7 which engages a socket 3 fixed between two of the bars. The cover, when removed, may be inserted between two of the bars, and a stop 9 is provided to prevent the cover from passing right through. A water and gas tight joint is formed when the cover is applied. In a modification, the grating may be deeper than that shown and made of concrete.
