Abstract

506,119. Sliding clasp fastenings. ULBRICHT, O. Aug. 4, 1938, No. 23045. [Class 44] A sliding-clasp fastener has the fastener elements 1, the top stops 14, and the two parts 8, 9 of the bottom stop threaded on the beaded tapes, the top and bottom stop members having internal spring arms 16, 13 to grip the beading and the fastener elements abutting one on top of the other. The slider has a hinged portion 23 on the back plate to allow of one fitted tape being removed laterally and has a front pull piece 34 serving as a flower holder 39 and carrying locking pins 38 to lock the slider in any position; the pull piece can be swung to one side to remove a transverse rear arm 35 by which the hinged rear portion 23 is normally held closed. The interlocking portion of the fastener elements is cup-shaped and cut away at 6 to overlap the beading of the opposite tape. The part 9 of the bottom stop has lugs 7a, 7b to engage the other part 8 and has a stud portion 7c to give the necessary staggering of the fastener elements on one tape.
