[Class 27] In a coin-controlled vending-machine wherein coins after effecting operation of the machine to deliver an article are fed to a change magazine from which they arc ejected as change, when the machine is actuated by a coin of higher value, one or more reserve magazines are provided from which coins are automatically fed to the change magazine in time to prevent a breakdown in the ejection of the proper change due to the change magazine becoming ex - hausted. As applied to a machine arranged to deliver a ticket for seven pennies, or a ticket and five pennies in exchange for one shilling, the pennies finally pass by a shoot 1 to a change magazine 5, while a shilling passes down a shoot 3 and rocks a feeler 10 to close contacts 12, 13 and momentarily energize a solenoid 14. The solenoid rocks a lever 16 against the action of a spring 15 to free a slide 18 which is moved by a spring 19 to eject five pennies as change from the magazine 5 to a delivery shoot 30. If there are less than five pennies in the magazine 5, a feeler 20 moves into the magazine and closes contacts 22, 23 to energize a solenoid 24, thereby releasing a slide 28 which ejects three pennies from a reserve magazine 31 and two from a second reserve magazine 32. These coins pass by shoots 33, 34 to replenish the magazine 5. The slides 18, 28 are reset from the mechanism effecting the ticket delivery. For example, the delivery mechanism includes a disc 35 rotating in a clockwise direction. A pin 36 on this disc actuates levers 37, 38 to reset the slides. The feeler 20 may be set at a higher position 20<1> on the magazine 5 to ensure the replenishment of the latter in good time ; the feeler actuating contacts 22<1>, 23<1>. In a modification, in order to conserve the coins in the reserve magazines, their delivery is also made dependent on the insertion of a shilling as well as exhaustion of the magazine 5. Another feeler 50 actuated by the shilling is provided, the contacts 52, 53 closed by this feeler being in series with the contacts 221, 231 so that the solenoid 24 is not energized unless both sets of contacts are closed.
