Abstract

500,556. Glazing-bars. HALL, H., BROWN, W., and MELLOWES & CO., Ltd. Aug. 10, 1937, No. 21983. [Class 20 (iii)] A glazing-bar is composed of two joined ferrous metal members 3 and 4 forming a tube which is covered by extrusion or other process with lead or other non- ferrous metal. The member 3 is fluted and the other member 4 joined at the flutes by welding or brazing &c. Integral side flanges 5 and a central flange (i are provided, preferably on the fluted member 3, and the sheath is provided with beads 9 on which the glass or like sheet rests and with flashings 11, 12 and a trough 15 on each side, if desired. In a modification, one member may be of channelfor1a joined to a grooved base with extensions adapted to support the glass &c. During the covering process, a suitable lubricant and rust-preventer may be interposed.
