Abstract

499,904. Hair - waving appliances. SCHULZ, (nÚe STOLLENWERCK), H. M. Oct. 1, 1937, Nos. 26575 and 26576. Convention dates, Nov. 13, 1936 and March 8, 1937. [Class 131] [Also in Group XI] A device for preheating clamps for use in permanent hair waving comprises a number of heat-transmitting rods on which the clamps are placed prior to their application to the hair. The rods c project perpendicularly from heatconducting casing g<1> and may be formed hollow or solid. The heat may be supplied by gas burners b or other means, and the casing g<1> may be mounted so as to turn on a stand g housing a fuel container i. Fig. 6 shows a clamp d placed on a hollow rod c secured over a burner hole e<1>. Baffles and guides may be arranged in the hollow rods as shown in Fig. 9. Fig. 11 shows a hollow rod l heated by gases from a burner k and by air flowing through a coil n heated by the burner and discharging through a tube u into the rod. Automatic temperature control may be used.
