Abstract
496,061. Retractive switches ; actuating controllers. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A. (Schiele Industriewerke) May 29, 1937, No. 14951. [Classes 38 (iii) and 38 (v)] A switch of the two-way and off type for remote control of automatic contactors or protective switchgear, comprises a spindle mounted in bearings so as to be turned in one direction momentarily for making one set of contacts to complete one circuit and to be turned in the opposite direction for momentarily making a set of contacts for completing another circuit and slidable longitudinally for interrupting either circuit, there being spring loaded means for returning the spindle to neutral position after a turning and after a sliding movement. In the example, the spindle 2 carries a radial projection 2a between two rockable levers 9, 10 each carrying a double contact 6, 8 co-operating with contacts 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, and 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d respectively. The levers are controlled by a C-spring 11 which tends to press them together so that when at rest the contacts 5c, 5d and 7a, 7b are joined respectively. Sliding the spindle longitudinally causes the end 2d to bear against a spring contact 15 and separate it from a coacting contact. The case may have compartments housing terminals for auxiliary circuits.
