[Class 112] In a button-hole sewing-machine of the kind having a fixed support for the stitchforming devices and a moving work-support, the work-support is made of light metal such as aluminium and provided with inserted members of harder material on the contact surfaces. The longitudinal motion of the work-support is derived from a cam acting on a pin fixed in the work-support and guided in the base of the machine, and the lateral movement from the same cam by means of an arm and a vertical rocking-shaft carrying a second arm which slidably engages the work-support.
