Abstract

491,495. Vacuum cleaners. BRITISH VACUUM CLEANER & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and HUTCHINSON, R. J. March 1, 1937, No. 6068. [Class 8 (i)] An agitating device for use in the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner comprises a cylindrical body h mounted by ball bearings c on a spindle b and is either power driven or freely rotatable. Eccentrics g are formed on the cylindrical surface and in the form shown the two outer ones extend in one direction and the inner ones in the other direction. The cylinder may have rows of bristles and in the form shown they are placed opposite the extension of the eccentric portions.
