[Class 40 (v)] In a radio receiver in which a local generator is used the local frequency generated is kept constant by means of a quartz or like piezoelectric crystal. The invention may be applied to a heterodyne telegraphic receiver or a superheterodyne receiver. The Figure shows an amplifier 7 and generators 8<1>, 8<11> stabilized by crystals 4<1>, 4<11> in which the secondary frequencies of the beats between the signal and each local oscillator beat together to provide the desired signals.
