Abstract
484,432. Actuation of switches. JONES, C. April 2, 1937. Nos. 9359 and 11847. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] A switch comprises a fixed insulated support 2 carrying contacts, P, I, S for several circuits, between which two rods 1, 13 move axially. Rod 1 is loosely threaded and rod 13 fixed to an operating cable 3 whereby movement of the cable to the left causes closure of all switches but return movement under spring action only causes opening of the switch S on the rod 13. A knob 22 provides for manual opening of the switches P and I on the rod 1. In another arrangement, Fig. 8. the switch comprises a disc 27, carrying contacts IC; S, which is mounted so as to oscillate on a shaft by operation through a pawl 29 on an operating rod 3. The switches IC and S co-operate with stationary contacts 25. A segmental member 28 mounted loosely in the bore of the disc 27 carries contacts IM, P which co-operate with corresponding fixed contacts 25. Movement of the pawl 29 to the left causes clockwise movement of disc 27 which carries the member 28 with it so as to close all the switches. Release of the disc 27 causes anticlockwise return movement thereof opening switches IC and S but the member 28 remains in the operated position until re-set manually.
