Abstract
482,031. Valve actuating-mechanism. DEUTSCHE - SCHIFFUND MASCHINENBAU AKT.-GES. July 19, 1937, No. 19973. Convention date, July 23, 1936. [Class 135] A valve actuating-shaft c is adapted to be actuated directly from a freely rotatable hand wheel b or through a reduction gearing d, e, f, g. A coupling disc h is secured to the shaft c and another coupling disc i is secured to the pinion d, which is freely rotatable on the shaft c, the hand wheel b being adapted to be coupled to either of these discs by a coupling lever k having engaging teeth n, o to provide either a direct connection to the shaft c or a connection through the reduction gearing. The lever k can also be set in a mid-position in which the hand wheel is freely rotatable. The hand wheel b may be actuated by a motor a or any other mechanism for operation from a remote point.
