477,340. Folding baby-carriages and the like. BENNETT, A. W. June 25, 1936, No. 17654. [Class 108 (i)] In foldable baby-carriages, invalid chairs and the like having quadrilateral linkages mounted on the chassis and adapted to be folded by means of the handle the pivot for the front uprights is disposed above those of the rear uprights and the upper horizontals are downwardly bent for connection to the rear uprights while the lower horizontals are upwardly bent for connection to the front uprights, the handle being connected to the linkages by links pivoted to the handle below its pivot with the chassis. The seat is carried by members f<1>, l secured to the lower horizontal links i<1> of a quadrilateral linkage i, i<1>, h, h<1> at each side, the uprights h, h<1> being pivoted to a rigid frame bar j secured to the chassis a, b. The links i, i<1> are provided with bent ends k, m and the front uprights h<1> are pivoted to the upturned end j<1> of the bar j at 2. The side members p<1> of the handle p are pivoted to the rear extension j<2> of the frame bars and are provided with extensions pivoted to links q pivoted at 3 to the quadrilateral linkage. Pivoted foot rests t, u are provided adapted to rest on rubber buffers v which also guide the foot rests into inoperative position during folding. Locking bars r are provided together with a pivoted back rest g<1> supported in upright and inclined positions by a pivoted bail o. To fold the locking bars . r are released and the handle moved forwardly causing the quadrilateral linkage to fold rearwardly.
