Abstract
470,533. Photographic contact-printing apparatus. MODERN PRODUCTS (L.C.L.), Ltd., and LAKE, P. July 31, 1936, No. 21265. [Class 98 (ii)] In a frame of the kind in which a sheet of resilient material, which may be porous rubber, is interposed between the pressure platen and the printing material, the pressure surface of the platen has ribs or other irregularities which ensure uniform compression over the whole of the resilient sheet. As shown, apparatus for reflex copying comprises a lamp housing 12 provided with an amber filter 26 and a glass window 11 as of plate glass. Drawbars 16 slidably mounted in brackets 17 on each side of the housing, are actuated through rack gear 18, 19 by levers 20, and are held in adjusted position by ratchet gear 21. To the bar or bars on one side is pivoted at 22 a frame 15 carrying a pressure platen 14 of laminated wood and adapted to be secured by a shackle 24 to the bar or bars on the other side. The underside of the platen 14 is formed unevenly, e.g. with corrugations or projections, and to it is stuck a sheet of porous rubber 27 which presses flat the sheets placed on the glass 11.
