Abstract

467,023. Optical-projection apparatus. ALDIS, A. C. W. Dec. 9, 1935, No. 34033. [Class 97 (i)] An additional light source and light-directing means are provided beneath the stage of an epidiascope to permit the projection by transmitted light, and through the projection lens of the episcopic system, of objects unsuitable for projection through the usual diascopic system; the additional light source &c. may form a removable unit. As shown, the stage a of an epidiascope is carried on pillars c to provide a space for a removable casing k containing a lamp f, reflector g, condenser i, and plane reflector h. Glass sheets hinged together may be mounted on the casing and may hold a photographic film &c. between them. When the casing k is removed, a magazine for slides, drawings, &c. may occupy the vacated space, or a pivoted bracket carrying a horizontal platform may be swung under the stage. The elements in the casing k may be replaced by a lamp and parabolic or other reflector directing light upwards without deflection.
