456,598. Printing. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK AKT.-GES. HEIDELBERG, Heidelberg, Baden, Germany. July 27, 1935, No. 21408. Convention date, March 22. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking-apparatus.-In the grinding means for the ink-distributing rollers of platen printing- presses, in addition to the actual track rails for the wheels of the rollers, there are provided adjacent parallel track rails forming friction surfaces for the wheels of the rollers. The inkdistributing rollers 1, which take ink off an ink cylinder, are reciprocated by means of an arm, the track wheels 5 of the rollers being guided on metallic track rails 6. At the side of each rail 6 is disposed a rail 7, on which is secured a rubber strip 8, or other friction covering. The strip 8 is prevented from expanding laterally by means of a side plate. The wheels 5 are of a width such that they run both on the rails 6 and the strips 8, the latter preventing the wheels from slipping. The rails 7 are adjustably mounted on the rails 6, and the rails 6 are adjustable. The rails 7 may be made of a material which obviates the use of friction coverings. Friction surfaces may be provided in the rails 6 by inserting therein strips of friction material.
