Abstract
453,611. Conveyers; mixing. MERCER, C. A., and PURDY PATENT MACHINERY CO. (1930), Ltd., 10, Euston Buildings, George Street, London. April 17, 1935, No. 11857. [Class 78 (i)] A machine for mixing the contents of bottles or other containers comprises means for moving the bottles along tracks which are arranged to tilt the bottles in opposite directions. In one form the bottles are fed by a conveyer 16 along undulating tracks 1, 2, Fig. 1, carried by a frame 7 and mounted between side guards 5. The bottles are discharged through a gap in one of the side guards on to a conveyer 18. In another form the tracks are straight and are given vertical reciprocating motions. For this purpose the tracks are carried by rods 26, Fig. 3, connected by links 27 with crank arms 28 on a shaft 29 which is oscillated by a cam 39 engaging a roller 38 on an arm 34 operating the shaft 29 by a link 33<a> and arm 33. In this form the bottles are ejected by a member 52 periodically operated by a cam 61.
