439,324. Magnetic tests. ARMOUR, A. M., 140, Manley Road, Whalley Range, Manchester, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 26, 1934, No. 27659. [Class 37] A container which may consist of a flat or curved tray or a tubular casing is filled with a liquid, for example, paraffin in which finely divided magnetic particles are suspended, the tray or casing having a transparent top and an inner surface against which the distribution of the particles can be observed. A brass casing 4 contains finely divided iron or nickel powder 3 in suspension and is closed by a ring 5 containing a glass cover 6. Observation may be effected by a lens. The particles may be subjected to a strong magnetic field before making a test.
