Abstract

436,549. Ambulance stretchers. TROJAN, Ltd., and MONK, B., Vicarage Road, Croydon. April 14, 1934, No. 11323. [Class 108 (i)] An ambulance stretcher of conventional design is provided with an auxiliary device comprising straps or flexible cover or both located on one pole and adapted to bridge over the patient whereby the stretcher may be tilted and the patient at the same time adequately supported. As shown L-shaped brackets 16-18 are provided adapted to clip on one of the poles 10 and straps 21-33 are secured to the underside of said brackets, buckles 25-27 being attached to the straps by rings to permit angular adjustment. The brackets are connected by a rod 15 to which also a flexible cover 29 is secured. The cover is adapted to bridge the patient, being provided at its other margin with a stiffener 35 and three sets of loops for the straps which pass under the stretcher and over the top of the cover to the buckles. The strap 23 is provided with a loop 28 adapted to embrace the feet as shown. A fixed or detachable head rest 45 and a head band 50 are provided. The canvas of the stretcher is denoted at 14. The auxiliary device when not in use may be detached and rolled up.
