Abstract

434,734. Moulding dough in rolling- machines. NORDBY, E., Hamar, Norway. March 8, 1934, No. 7438. [Class 87 (ii)] In apparatus for rolling-out dough into strips in making biscuits or crispbread wafers comprising sheeting rollers 1, 2, the surfaces whereof run through chambers 3, 4 containing flour or other non- sticking powder for applying to the rollers, and scrapers situated at the points where the surfaces of the rollers come out of the chambers, the scrapers are in the form of cylinders 7, 8. The scraper cylinders 7, 8 may rotate with a peripheral speed less than that of the rollers. Stirrers 5, 6 may be provided in the flour chambers. Rotating cylinders 10, 11 are provided to convey detached flour back from the rollers to the chambers. The cylinders 7, 8 have such a diameter or are so supported that they do not curve or bend. The rollers 1, 2 have a rough surface to ensure adhesion of the flour. The dough strip 14 may be conveyed over rollers 15, 16 to an oven and it may be patterned by rollers 18, 19.
