Divided out of 426,711. [Class 24] In chains for endless-chain coal cutters &c., the pintle is a hollow sleeve 12 disposed in apertures 9, 10 of the links 6, 8 and held by a cleat 15 the ends of which engage slots in the outer links. Preferably the cleat is in the form of a bar the ends of which are bent at right-angles and engage notches in the ends of the sleeve 12 to prevent rotation thereof relatively to the outer links. In the construction of chain described, the outer links comprise a pair of side members connected by a bridging portion and embracing the inner links.
