Abstract
416,033. Elastic fluid turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET MILO, 32, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. March 9, 1934, No. 7575. Convention date, March 10, 1933. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110 (iii).] In a multi-stage turbine of the axial-flow or radial flow type having the diameters of the stages increasing towards the exhaust end, the rotors in the earlier stages which are of relatively small diameters and subjected to working fluid of high temperature, are constructed of a steel which does not " creep " appreciably due to the high temperature. Below a temperature point of 500‹ C. approximately, and where centrifugal forces on the rotors exert heavy stresses, the rotors are constructed of a stronger material. The two materials may be austenitic steel and martensitic steel respectively.
