Abstract

A heat-exchange tube consists of a core of heavy metal, e.g chrome-nickel steel, upon which is cast a finned sleeve of light metal, e.g. aluminium-silicon alloy containing about 5-25 per cent of silicon. A sleeve of aluminium-silicon alloy containing magnesium, copper, cobalt, or nickel may be applied to a copper alloy core containing about 2 per cent of nickel and 1 per cent of silicon.
