Abstract

413,964. Locking levers. BIRKIGT, L., Rue du Capitaine Guynemer, Bois-Colombes, Seine, France. Dec. 21, 1933, No. 35965. Convention date, Nov. 9. [Class 80 (iii).] A movable element 1, e.g. the spring starter of an internal-combustion engine or the carriage of a spring catapult, is held retracted against a spring 2 by a catch 3 released by a member 4 which is automatically returned to the engaged position when the element 1 is returned to the catch engaging position. The member 4 carries a second catch 5 which is disengaged from the element 1 by operating a rod 6, whereupon a spring 7 pushes the member 4 to the right, which permits the catch 3 to rotate about its pivot 9 under the action of the spring 10, thereby releasing the element 1. To re-engage the catch the element 1 is moved to the right until the recess 13 engages the catch 5 in the dotted position. The element 1 is then released and moves the member 4 to the left thereby engaging the catch 3.
