Abstract

405,871. Linear - dimension gauges. LAMBRINOS, C., Port-Fouad, Egypt. June 19, 1933, Nos. 17486 and 17487. Convention dates, June 18, 1932 and May 24, 1933, [Class 106 (ii).] Comprises an internal micrometer gauge in which anvils or feelers are controlled by a rod provided with a holder having a scale, the rod which is connected on the one hand, through gearing, with the anvils, and on the other hand with a rotating micrometer sleeve, being constituted by two smooth parts one of which slides freely on the other. The cylindrical holder 1 is mounted on a rod 2 which at one end is provided with a key-way 4 engaging a key 7 carried by a tube 6 the end 8 of which is screwed into a sleeve 9 and secured thereto by a cage 10. The sleeve 9 engages by its threaded portion 14 the screwed part 15 of the holder 1 and is coned at its end which is provided with a circular scale. The holder 1 is screwed into a casing 18 into which extends the rod 2 which has bearings in the casing and has fixed to it a helical wheel 20 gearing with a similar wheel 21 on a shaft 22 having screwed extensions 23, 24 which may be of the same or of opposite hand and of different pitches. Anvils 27 adapted to slide without turning in the boxes 26 are screwed on to the shaft 22. In use the device is inserted into a bore and the sleeve 9 turned until the anvils engage the bore. The dimension is then read off on the scales 16 and 13. In a modification the anvils fit into a socket mounted in the same way as the anvils 27.
