[Class 7 (ii).] Dust and grit are prevented from entering the cylinders with the charge and from attacking exposed moving parts, by arranging an air filter adjacent the radiator or between the radiator-fan and the engine. As shown, vertically corrugated or pleated filtering screens 1 are placed behind the radiator and inside the louvres 4 of a motor-car bonnet.
