Abstract
399,483. Control of A.C. motors ; actuating controllers. ASQUITH, Ltd., W.. Highroad Well Works, and EASTWOOD, W., Lynwood Crescent, King Cross. both in Halifax, Yorkshire. March 4, 1932, No. 6507. [Class 38 (iii).] A drum controller comprising segments C, F, F<1>, F2, is actuated by a handle moved in a gate G. With the handle in the left-hand slot a contactor D may be energized and the stator A of the motor connected up for slow speed operation in opposite directions, by placing the handle at the top or bottom of the slot. With the handle in the right-hand slot, contactors D, E may be energized and tappings on the stator A connected up for high-speed operation in opposite directions, by placing the handle' in the top or bottom of the slot. Specification 332,974, [Class 38 (iii), Electric motor control systems &c.], is referred to.
