Abstract

394,848. Furniture legs. HECKT, W., 37, Burgstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Oct. 3, 1932, No. 27458. Convention date, Jan. 28. [Class 52 (i).] Comprises a stabilizing-device for articles of furniture with a plurality of legs, wherein two legs are interconnected through the intermediary of a brake or locking device so that the legs are fixed automatically in adjusted position after adaptation to unevenness of the supporting surface. As shown, two table legs b1, b2 are bored to receive auxiliary legs c1, c2, which are each secured against slipping out when the table is lifted by means of a collar and are connected by balls d to the ends e1, e2 of a band brake e. By this means, sliding of the legs c1, c2 within the bores of the legs b1, b2 is permitted, the legs being locked in adjusted position by the band brake e.
