Abstract

392,404. Heating and cooling presses for rubber &c. KRANTZ, H., [Firm of], Industriestrasse, Aachen, Germany. Sept. 12, 1932, No. 25368. Convention date, Sept. 14, 1931. [Class 87 (ii).] An installation for alternately heating and cooling machines, apparatus, or parts thereof, e.g. presses for the manufacture of articles of rubber, comprises a hot-water system operating under pressure and above 100‹ C., and a cooling system with separate circulating means operating under substantially the same pressure, each being a closed system. Hot water is circulated under pressure from the heater 1 by a pump 2 through pipes a and valves to the machines 3, whence it returns to the heater. Similarly cold water is circulated from a surface condenser 4 by a pump 5 through pipes b and valves to the machines 3 and back to the cooler. A pipe d connects the two systems to maintain them under the same pressure.
