Abstract
391,892. Cabinets. FEREDAY, J. H., FEREDAY, H., FEREDAY, W., FEREDAY, G. T., (trading as RUDDUCK & CO.), and FEREDAY, S. E., 219, Old Street, London. Nov. 26, 1931, No. 32790. [Class 52 (i).] A case, particularly for use in shop fittings, is provided with a flap which can be lifted up and slid back into the case, the sides of the case being provided with right angle slots within which run projections on the sides of the flap. The sides a of the case b are each provided with right angle slots c, c<1> cut in the side or formed by mounting a slotted piece of plywood on the sides. The sides of the flap d are provided with projections in the form of ball races d<1> located in the slots and offset from the centre line of the flap to the rear so that the weight keeps the flap closed when it is down. The flap is raised by the handle d<2>, the flap pivoting about the ball race d<1> until its upper end comes into contact with ball races f mounted on the sides of the case, the ball races d<1> then riding up the vertical legs c of the right angle slots until the flap is in a horizontal position, when it can be slid to the rear. It is not necessary to raise the flap completely before it commences to slide rearwardly. A stop g is provided to limit the backward movement of the flap. The ball races may be replaced by plain pins or projections. The case may be built up with other like cases to form and complete shop fitting.
