[Class 132 (iii).] In a soft toy a figure of the kind that is stiffened by a metal skeleton and provided with limbs pivoted to the body and bendable intermediate their ends, the skeleton includes a rigid, substantially U-shaped member having pivoted to each of its ends a length of wire or strip metal articulated at one or more points in its length. The toy animal shown is provided with a skeleton comprising two U-shaped members 3, 4 connected by a strip 1. Leg members 5, 6 having knee-joints 11 are pivoted to the ends of the U-shaped members. The head and neck of the animal are stiffened by wires 7, 7a, 7b relatively adjustable about axes in more than one plane. The skeleton may be provided with a tail, and the strip 1 connecting the U-shaped members may be articulated intermediate its ends. A skeleton for a human figure may be similarly constructed. The joints each comprise loops formed on the meeting ends of the skeleton members, such loops being serrated and pressed apart by rubber or metal washers.
