Abstract

389,262. Rollingtubes. VEREINIGTE STAHLWERKE AKT.-GES., 69, Breitestrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Feb. 19, 1932, No. 4966. Convention date, May 11 1931. Addition to 352,868. [Class 83 (iv).] Mandrels.-A tube with internally thickened ends formed as described in the parent Specification may be formed with intermediate thickenings by further pilgering the tube a, Fig. 1, on the stepped mandrel b while its left end is held abutted against the stripping ring e backed by a bridging piece d against the abutment ring f. When the intermediate thickening is formed in Fig. 2 the bridging piece d is removed and pilgering is continued until the tube is formed as in Fig. 3. The external thickening a may then be converted to an internal thickening as in the parent Specification.
