Abstract
382,203. Gas meters. POLLAK, J. E., 20, Holborn, London.-(Elster & Co., Akt.- Ges. ; Mainz, Germany.) March 22, 1932, No. 8431. [Class 54.] In a dry gas meter in which, in order to reduce the loss of pressure within the meter, the grid openings of the slide valve mechanism are connected to the measuring chambers by straight conduits, the ends of the conduits are of elongated cross section, corresponding longitudinal dimensions of the two ends being displaced through 90‹ relative to each other and the walls of the conduits extend in such manner that at all points the cross section of the conduit is maintained at least equal to the area of the ends. At their upper ends the cross sections of the conduits e<1>, e<3> conform to the corresponding openings c<1>, c<3> of the grids of the slide valves S. A twisting of the conduits through 90‹ is necessitated by the restricted depth of the measuring chambers A, B.
