Void (Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 118 (i).] In a moving-map route indicator the map scale is varied in accordance with the deviations of the route. The map strip 33 is drawn from a roll 29 by a pair of endless bands 18 driven from the vehicle through gearing 9, 10, 13, and is wound on a roll 30, both rolls also being driven from the vehicle, through worms 22, 27, 28. The map strip is gripped between the bands 18 and superposed endless belts 21 and the present position of the vehicle is read at an adjustable bar 4. Fig. 6 shows a portion of a normal map and, on the right, the map modified according to the invention, the scale of the map being increased at a and b to allow for the bends in the main road. To give warning of approach to dangerous points slots 35 in the map are adapted to allow electric contacts to engage through them and thus complete the circuits of lamps 6. A speed-record strip may be arranged alongside the map and driven by the vehicle at the same rate for comparison purposes.
