Abstract

360,175. Coating webs ; doctors. NUTTALL, T. D., Park View, Walmersley Road, and BENTLEY & JACKSON, Ltd., Lodge Bank Works, both in Bury. Oct. 22, 1930, No. 31708. [Classes 96 and 140.] In a doctor of the pivotallymounted type for drying, glazing, &c. cylinders the blade - holder b has trunnions g detachably s e - cured thereto at its opposite ends and carried in bearings i upon slides j adjustable by screws k. To adjust the pressure of the blade a upon the cylinder, the trunnions g are detached and packing pieces inserted between the trunnions and the holder to vary the amount which the latter is offset with respect to the pivotal axis. The blade a is gripped by set. screws f arranged in staggered relation along the holder and backing screws d are provided near the operative end of the blade. The latter may be given a short longitudinal traverse across the cylinder by cam or like means acting upon one or both trunnions.
