359,841. Injectors. SMITH, J. A. R., Netherfield, Ley Hey Road, Marple, Cheshire. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 4978. Convention date, May 16, 1930. [Class 71.] In injectors worked with exhaust steam and boiler or live steam, the live steam is supplied through annular nozzles around the mixed water and exhaust steam jets. In the construction shown, the exhaust steam is supplied through a longitudinally-movable nozzle a, water is supplied to space b, exhaust steam to space f, and the main steam is supplied in the form of an annular jet around the end of the nozzle g between the nozzle and the combining-nozzle h. The exhaust steam inlet f may be omitted, or a number of such inlets inset. In a modification, a closed annular space arranged around one of the nozzles and communicating with a second nozzle, improves the efficiency.
