Abstract
352,142. Easels; desks. HOLMES BROS. (LONDON), Ltd. and HOLMES, H., Billet Road, Walthamstow, London. May 3, 1930, No. 13684. [Classes 52 (iii) and 52 (v).] An easel consists of a folding trestle, the rear legs 16 of which carry sliding supporting members 14 to which the drawing board 11 is pivoted at 13 the board being held at the desired inclination by slide members 26 pivoted to the board and slotted to engage pivot pins 29 on the front legs 17 of the trestle. The members 14 each consist of a channel section metal bar with a short limb 14a engaging a rebate in the rear trestle leg 16 and a longer limb 14b with an inturned flange engaging a groove 43 in the leg 16. The members 14 are clamped in position by a nut 45 and bolt 44 passed through the leg 16 and a slot in the members 14. The trestle may be provided with a folding shelf 19, 20 the part 19 supporting a drawer. The board 11 may be slidably mounted on the supporting frame &c. A small table 37 may be hinged to the supporting frame and may carry a swinging tray 40. A crossbar 33 of the front trestle legs may have a rubber pad 35 to act as a foot-rest. In a modification the rear legs of the trestle may have extensions to serve as guides for the members 14.
