Abstract

342,342. Electric battery lamps. SHEPPARD, A. H. and EVER READY CO. (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., Hercules Place, Holloway, London. Oct. 29, 1929, No. 32865. [Class 39 (ii).] A tubular watertight casing for a battery lamp is provided with removable end caps 7, 15 and a switch consisting of a screwed spindle 23 which is a machined fit through a watertight joint. Tarred string is used as packing around the spindle and rubber packing is inserted between flanges 4, 8 and 5, 16 respectively. Upon operation of the switch, electrical connection is made between a battery terminal and the casing through a spring 28 and nuts 26, 27. Removal of the switch spindle is prevented by the nut 26. A reflector 11, glass 9 and rubber packing 13 are secured against a flange 10 by a slotted screwed ring 12. Specification 332,205, [Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent], is referred to.
