Abstract
341,026. Projectile fuzes. FORSBERG, H., 30, Jacobsgatan, Stockholm. Oct. 8, 1929, No. 30517. [Class 9 (i).] Relates to fuzes of the kind in which the detonator is in two parts and one part 5 is carried by a member 19 rotatably mounted and normally held in a safe position where detonation cannot be transmitted, an arming. rotation being performed after discharge. According to the invention, a piston 22 controlled by a spring 21 is provided and adapted to lock the member 19 in the safe position shown in the Figure, until the projectile is discharged. The piston then sets back by inertia and releases the member 19, and at the same time a spring blade 24 on the piston springs inwards behind the shoulder 25 of the member 19. When acceleration ceases, the spring 21 returns the piston 22 forwards, at the same time turning the member 19 round to bring the part 5 of the detonator in line with the other part 18 and in line also with the striker 7.
