340,708. Wireless receiving apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. -(Assignees of Selby, E. O ; 315, Clinton Street, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Nov. 13, 1929. No. 34651. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1928. [Class 40 (v).] A screen consists of a conducting partition 24 having an opening 27 in which a discharge device, such as a screened grid valve 5, is situated, the partition being bent, for example in opposite directions to form semi-circular recesses 28, 34 so that the plane in which the opening lies is at rightangles to the plane containing the greater part of the partition, the circular opening being intersected by the latter plane. A ring 32, arranged to engage the edge of the opening, may be inserted between the valve and the bent parts. The partition is mounted in a screening box (Fig. 1, not shown) so as to separate the input circuit from the output circuit, the control grid terminal 30, mounted on the top of the valve, being in one compartment, and the other terminals at the base of the valve being in the other compartment.
