Abstract
340,472. Cylinders and crank chambers. REDRUP, C. B., 44, St. George's Road, Golders Green, London. July 30, 1929, No. 23407. [Class 7 (ii).] In an engine in which the cylinders g are parallel to the crank shaft e, the crank case is formed in two parts a, y with external grooves z in line with the spaces between the cylinders so that there may be a continuous flow of cooling air from one end of the engine to the other. Fins e are formed in the grooves of the case a and the engine may be surrounded by a stream-lined cover. A cover band the cylinders are secured by long bolts c, i. Specification 327,161, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes expansion joints, between the cylinders and the crank case comprising dove-tailed connections, and between an induction pipe, integral with one of the cylinders, and an induction chamber surrounding the crank shaft.
