Flat endless-belt conveyers.-In apparatus for freezing packages 99 of fish, meat, or other substances by passing them between a number of pairs of impervious heat-conducting conveyer bands 12, 56 sprayed with a freezing liquid, the upper band 12 of each pair passes at one end over a driven drum 32 and at the other end over a drum 14 freely mounted in sliding bearings, which are pressed away from the end of the chamber by springs acting through levers 26 to maintain a uniform tension on the band. The lower band 56 of each pair passes at one end over a driven band and at the other end over a drum 58 mounted in adjustable bearings. The upper pass of each lower band is supported by rollers 72, and the lower pass of each upper band is pressed against the packages, which are supported upon a lower band by rollers 91 held in pivoted frames 90.
