Flat endless-belt conveyers.-Packages 99 of fish, meat, &c. are carried through a refrigeratorchamber whilst gripped between superposed end. less-bands 12, 56, preferably of nichrome steel, the edges of the upper band being deflected to prevent cooling-brine sprayed through pipes 94 from reaching the packages. The edges of the band may be formed with slits 13, Fig. 3. The lower band is supported upon end rollers, one of which is adjustable longitudinally and provided with a wiper, and intermediate rollers 72. The lower run of the upper band is weighted by rollers 91 carried by pivotally-supported frames 90, 92 so as to grip the packages. Specification 311,247 is referred to.
