Television.-In a receiver, in which a ray of light explores a display screen 9 and is varied in intensity by the received signals, the source of light 5 is a substantially spherical luminous element, an image of which is focussed on the screen. The luminous element is metallic, as in the lamp known under the Trade Mark " Pointolite." The ray of light explores contiguous strips of the display screen through the agency of lenses 4 in a moving-screen between the light source and the display screen. The intensity of the light is varied by a Kerr cell 10 between the light source and the exploring lenses. Specification 331,325 is referred to.
