329,706. Cahill Carton Corporation. Oct. 2, 1928, [Convention date]. Boxes made from special blanks.-In a box or carton comprising a collapsable tubular body A and an end closure formed of side flaps 20, 21 hinged to the side walls and top and bottom interlocking flaps 24, 25 hinged respectively to the top and bottom walls, the hinge lines 22, 23 of the side flaps are disposed in the same plane behind the plane of the hinge lines 26, 27 of the top and bottom interlocking flaps. The flaps 24, 25 are locked together by a tongue 41 on the flap 24 engaging a slit 50 in the flap 25 and the slit 50 has short right-angled slits 51 at its ends forming a resilient tongue with which an obstruction 60 formed by a creased line at the base of the tongue 41 engages in a frictional and resilient manner. The cuts separating the adjacent flaps extend past the hinge lines 26, 27. The other end of the carton is constructed as described in Specification 326,006.
