Improvements in tapered keys for securing railway rails

Abstract

321,209. Yates, C. R. Aug. 2, 1928. Chair keys.-One-way taper metal keys for flange rails have a continuous curved back b and a longitudinal groove h underneath the key to reduce the weight. The groove may taper with the key to maintain a substantially constant cross-section of metal. The key may be stamped, forged, cast, or rolled.
