318,528. Tisseyre, L. D. J. Feb. 8, 1928, [Convention date.]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Divided on 305,631, [Class 39 (iii), Heating by electricity]. Drawings to Specification. Pyrometers.-For calibrating a pyrometer, a magnetic material which loses its magnetic properties at a known temperature is associated therewith and means are provided for giving an indication when the said properties disappear. The magnetic material is secured to the pyrometer and both are heated together in a crumble by means of a resistance of graphite &c. surrounding the crucible, the said resistance constituting also the primary winding of a transformer. The secondary winding surrounds the primary and means are provided for indicating the change in the E.M.F. induced in the secondary when the critical temperature of the magnetic material is reached. The reading of the pyrometer at this point can then be compared with the known critical temperature to obtain the correction to be applied.
