Abstract

310,614. Howard &. Bullough, Ltd., and Bancroft, J. Aug. 29, 1928. Spindle apparatus.-Traveller rings for use in yarn doubling and other twisting operations are formed with a double channel or H-shape section, the ring being constructed as an integral unit and provided with a projecting lip on its upper outer edge whereby it is supported by the ring- rail which forms its sole support. The channels h, i, Figs. 2 and 6 are adapted to receive the ends of the traveller d. In a modification, the channels may be unequal and their axes non- coincident as at h, o, Fig. 5. The rings are particularly adapted for use in the formation of cable cord wherein yarn c is drawn from the bobbin b through the traveller d but are also applicable to ordinary doubling or spinning frames.
